On June 15, 2020, the U.S Small Business Administration (SBA) once again opened up it's Economic Injury Disaster Loan (EIDL) grant and loan program. This means that independent contractors, freelancers, and gig workers are eligible to receive a $1,000 grant that does not have to be repaid.

GENERAL ARTIST AND FREELANCE RESOURCES
MONEY FOR CANCELLED GIGS
  • Equal Sound Corona Relief Fund (Website back online and accepting applications. Relief for lost gig money $500 max. Very easy application)
  • Musicares (Applications currently closed, but check back. Rent and Mortgage relief up to $1,000 for cancelled work that was scheduled and lost.)
  • Artist Relief Fund ($250 relief for artists affected by Covid-19 cancellations [*applications are currently suspended, but you can join the wait list])
EMERGENCY FUNDING FOR MUSICIANS
  • Musicians Foundation (Applications now open again 5-29-20. $200 Grant aid to individuals. May not be receiving assistance from pension, unemployment, social security or disabilty)
  • Hillsborough Artist Relief Program (HARP) ($500 unrestricted grant to Hillsborough County Artists for basic needs - Rent/Mortgage, Utilities, Food, Bills, Childcare, Healthcare, etc. A Local member has already recieved grant money from this!)
  • 20Summers.org (Emergency arts funding up to $500 for each artist. Navigate to bottom of webpage to HOW YOUR CAN PARTICIPATE and click on "Nominate Artist" to apply for yourself.)
  • Artistrelief.org (Artist Relief will distribute $5,000 grants to artists facing dire financial emergencies due to COVID-19. Last Application Cycle V ends Aug 19, 2020)
  • Actors Fund (For Musicians - Immediate Financial assistance. They ask you provide bank statement and rent/mortage agreement. A Local member has already received a grant from this)
  • OneTampa.org (Currently not accepting applications, but keep checking back - $1,000 for rent/mortgage, $250 for essential utilites for residents who live in the city of Tampa)
  • Pinellas Community Foundation (Applications currently closed, but keep checking back. $500 grant to any artist residing in Pinellas County in need - easy application. A Local member has already received a grant from this)

    FOR STUDENTS & TEACHERS + PARENTS
  • MPTF is awarding $500 and $2,000 Scholarships to recent high school graduates that are children of AFM members. FACT SHEET & APPLICATION
  • Pinellas County: $500 grant for low-income or at risk students (ages 10-17) in Pinellas Co. to take lessons over the summer. Money goes directly to the Teacher & Teacher can nominate the student. Policies & Application
