Local 427-721 of the American Federation of Musicians (AFM) is a dedicated and pioneering force representing professional and performing musicians in communities across Westcentral and Southwest Florida.

We are a union of professional musicians, working together to improve the lives and working conditions of all musicians in our area.

Our jurisdiction includes the Tampa Bay area, Sarasota, Fort Myers, and Naples. Our members perform classical, country, jazz, rock and popular music and are members of some of the state's most respected and illustrious ensembles, including the Southwest Florida Symphony, Sarasota Orchestra, and the Florida Orchestra..

UNSCRUPULOUS CONTRACTORS AND AGENTS

It has come to our attention at AFM Local 427-721 that there are agents and contractors in the area that will attempt to hire musicians for casual work as well as long term engagements and pay less than the local minimum scale for our area. If you have encountered this recently or at some point in the past few years, we would like to know the details of the situation.
