Local 427-721 of the American Federation of Musicians (AFM) is a dedicated and pioneering force representing professional and performing musicians in communities across Westcentral and Southwest Florida.

We are a union of professional musicians, working together to improve the lives and working conditions of all musicians in our area.

Our jurisdiction includes the Tampa Bay area, Sarasota, Fort Myers, and Naples. Our members perform classical, country, jazz, rock and popular music and are members of some of the state's most respected and illustrious ensembles, including the Southwest Florida Symphony, Sarasota Orchestra, and the Florida Orchestra..

THE MUSICIANS OF THE SARASOTA ORCHESTRA AND AFM LOCAL 427-721 RETURNED TO THE TABLE AND RESUMED BARGAINING DURING THE LAST WEEKS OF NOVEMBER 2009. ON DECEMBER 11, 2009, THE MUSICIANS OF THE SARASOTA ORCHESTRA RATIFIED A TWO YEAR AGREEMENT WITH SARASOTA ORCHESTRA INC.
